From the President • During a briefing at the FEMA headquarters in Washington, D.C., President Trump says he had considered postponing his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention to instead visit the Gulf Coast, where Hurricane Laura hit early this morning.

Pres. Trump said, “We got a little bit lucky. It was very big. It was very powerful. But it passed quickly… We’ll probably be going on Saturday or Sunday.”
